Today is the 6th of August 2009, my results come out in exactly six days. i'm not worried actually. I know I did well, perhaps not as well as I would have done had I not been in a certain place for the duration of my senoir years, but well enough for the course I want.
All is well on the Sandra front. whatever I had for her is gone.
Instead these days I'm all A.D.I.D.A.S
y'all who done heard the Korn song know what I'm on about.
I can't help it. It's not that I'm lonlier than usual, its just that well, I met this guy. I was doing a work placement (temp internship for all you americans) in the kitchen of a really posh hotel and by Thursday had not only fainted but through other semi-tragic-comic events managed to convince most of the dinner chefs, including a very nice german chef named Marv, that I was a complete Spastic who had all the culinary skills of a drunken tea-towel. I spent most of my time cutting and cleaning things. Turely I was a Commis Chef to commiserate with.
but anyways, after all that I'm glad that at least I'm no longer getting lost on my way to the Kitchens and on Thursday I have a pretty pleasant day chatting with Ignes one of the Chefs...she is so nice to me, nicer than Harry the baker whom I 'helped' on wednes. morning, she had invited me to help her out before but jana the chef I was with hates ignes and hadn't allowed me downstairs to help her (its a castle so the Kitchens were underground)
So thursday rolls past all nice, nicer still cuz I seen A movie with the Family i'm stayin with, but moving on
thursday I'm in the breakfast Kitchen I meet this Waiter called Steve. yeah seroiusly.
I've seen him a couple of times before but nevr really had the chance to talk, so we start talking, and he's a real nice guy. real decent down to earth but certainly not boring. He's a dancer too you know, when he's at home. home being on the other side of europe. So we get talking and i really like him. I'm almost sorry I'm leaving soon
Friday we talk some more and I'm really gettin into him now, course I figure he's a bit of a dice, if ya know what I mean, cuz one time me and the Chef come up from the stairs and there he is helping this girl waiter tie the bow at the back of her waistcoat.
the girl in question has an outrageous behind for a caucaisan. Even i know it
Then again I suppose it ain't impossible he really was just helping. I've sniffed him out and over and he seems like the kinda guy free of sleaze.
So we be talkin again and some how the conversation turns around to the topic of what we do Friday nights. I says to him,
"Sure round my town aint nothing to do but sit round the supermarket carpark"
"What? "he says, "thats lame" excuse me ,I think,non-offended, then say
"Ain't nothing lame about free toliet use and food" he laughs "So what you do?"
"Im gonna head out to Gregnewn city have a real night out dance in a proper nightclub with some good music" that def sounds cooler
"Well" I say" there's always the bridge in my town"
He's kinda lookin at me
"Its where all the kids go to drink and stuff...but not me cause I'm a good girl" he laughs I laugh,we're just two dudes laughing
"Well not me I'ma bad boy...always... the bad boy..." I see where this conversation might next go, I hesitate unsure. quick glance left tells me Jeadha, the Chef on today, is determindly ignoring our converation...or at least making a good show of doin' so...
So you'd think I went for it, that the reason I'm A.D.I.D.A.S is cause he's been so good to me since.
Nope man, I totally let it slide from me. Oppurtunity came a knocking and I hid in the bathroom.
Even Later when he's leaving and I'm after telling him that I'm leaving too-later though- and he looks so, dissapointed, dare I say it, as we bid each other good bye; Not only is Oppertunity doing a frenzied tap dance on my doorstep but my hearts responding in kind, but I'm so scared so awkaward in myself that I just...let him go.
Jeadha says nothing.
